Webcam Blackmail is where someone records something YOU do from the camera on your computer, or removes an erased video from your computer, and turns around and extorts money out of you to stop them from posting the video all over the internet.
Just in England Alone there were over 900 cases reported to the Police last year alone.
Here in the States it is estimated that these Professional Criminals hacked & Blackmailed over 10,000 people in 2017.
It is so prevalent that Wikipedia has set up a site called SEXTORTION.
So what do they do?
Here are some examples:
1) Cassidy Wolfe - Miss Teen USA - had a Malware installed onto her computer by High School Classmate (Jared Abrahams of Santa Anna, Ca) and she woke up one day to find that he had been recording her through her camera on her computer and was trying to Blackmail her with the Naked Pictures he had captured off of her camera as her Computer was in her Bedroom.
We do not expect our bedroom to have a camera in it and these Cameras can work even if your computer is turned off.
Apparently Jared had hacked around 100-150 different women through their Computer Cameras and was actively involved in a massive Blackmail Scheme.
Jared was arrested and immediately posted $50,000 dollars in bail. He was eventually sent to jail for 18 months. Big Whoop.
What do you think he is going to do when he gets out?
2) A Young Gal left her Computer on her desk in her Bedroom and went into bathroom to shower and it was recorded over and over again through her Webcam even though the Computer was off. One day she was sent an Email demanding $40,000 of the hacker would post her videos on a Porn Site and ruin her life forever.
2) Here we see 4 men who actually committed suicide after they were blackmailed over the computer for things the did while their Webcam was watching. It was not what he said during htre conversation that got him upset but what they recorded from his Computer Camera during the Online Conversation.
3) In our final story - a father Disciplined his 13 yr old daughter and took a 15 second video of her admitting she had done something wrong and her father cutting off her hair. The video was snatched off of his phone and posted on the Social Network.
Even if he had erased the video it still could have been retrieved off his computer of phone.
Izabel Laxamana stepped out of her father’s car on 4 June 2015 and jumped off a highway overpass onto I-5 and died later at the Hospital.
What if these kids were your children or Grandchildren?
These Cyber Blackmail Crimes are on the rise.

According to the FBI the are usually done by Professional Hacking Groups. Let’s look at 2 three examples:
1) Miss Teen USA was hacked by a School Classmate.
2) Here we see a US State Department Employee in London conducting this type of Blackmail using a US State Department Computer. He was placed on “House Arrest” within the Embassy.
3) Here we see 58 hackers conducting Sextortion arrested in the Philippines with the help of the International Police of Interpol.

First - Do Not Panic - Even if you are shown in compromising positions or stark naked - it’s not the end of the world.
